This project formed part of the construction of new inlet works infrastructure, requiring durable, corrosion-resistant access and containment systems suitable for long-term operation within a wastewater treatment environment.

Project Requirements

Installed GRP Solution

PJNC supplied and installed a combination of GRP odour control covers and handrail systems across the inlet works.

Installed systems included:

GRP odour control covers: 1,100 m²
GRP handrail: 50 linear metres

Cover systems were provided in both walk-on and non-walk-on configurations to suit specific access and process requirements across the site.

Technical & Design Requirements

Walk-on covers rated to 7.5 kN/m²
Non-walk-on covers rated to 1.0 kN/m²
GRP handrail rated to 0.74 kN/m

All systems were designed to integrate with the new inlet works layout while maintaining safe access routes for inspection and maintenance.

Installation & Delivery

Installation was carried out as part of a live construction environment, requiring coordination with other trades and phased delivery across multiple process areas.

GRP systems were supplied pre-fabricated to suit site dimensions, allowing efficient installation while minimising disruption to ongoing works.
