GRP Structural Profiles

Strong, lightweight, corrosion-resistant GRP profiles for industrial, commercial and infrastructure use.

GRP Structural Profiles are expertly engineered components utilised in constructing GRP frameworks and support systems. Manufactured through the Pultrusion process, these profiles can be created in virtually any shape, provided the cross section remains uniform.

Built to meet strict international standards, they undergo rigorous testing to ensure their properties meet design requirements. This enables engineers to confidently design a wide range of structures by applying established design codes and using these high-quality, dependable profiles.

What Are GRP Structural Profiles?

GRP Structural Profiles are engineered composite components used in frameworks, platforms, and support systems. With a consistent cross-section and precise manufacturing tolerances, they offer dependable performance in even the most challenging environments.

Our profiles meet strict international standards and undergo rigorous testing to ensure quality, allowing engineers to design confidently using established structural codes.

Advantages of GRP Structural Profiles

  • High strength to weight ratio – for the same load with same support distance GRP Structures & Profiles are normally 50% lighter than steel
  • Electrically safe around electrical equipment –
  • Very low electrical conductivity!
  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Corrosion resistant – no paint required!
  • As good in hot, humid conditions or Arctic conditions!

The Pultrusion Process

The pultrusion process is a proven manufacturing technique that creates GRP profiles with consistent strength and quality. During pultrusion, fibres are drawn through resin and heated in a mould, resulting in a uniform, high-strength profile that can be produced in a wide range of shapes.

Benefits of pultrusion:

  • Consistent quality and dimensional accuracy
  • High tensile and flexural strength
  • Lightweight and corrosion-resistant
  • Excellent dielectric properties (non-conductive)
  • Ideal for repetitive large-scale production

Applications of GRP Profiles

GRP Structural Profiles are widely used across industries, replacing traditional materials thanks to their strength, safety, and durability. Common applications include:

  • Water & Wastewater Treatment – walkways, handrail supports, access structures
  • Marine & Coastal Projects – platforms, ladders, corrosion-proof structures
  • Oil & Gas Facilities – non-conductive, chemical-resistant framework
  • Rail & Transport – lightweight structural supports and platforms
  • Construction & Infrastructure – beams, channels, and support systems
