Generally, when dealing with GRP glues and adhesives, a few safety precautions should be followed. These include wearing protective clothing, including goggles and gloves. You should also avoid inhaling the dust created by the shavings from the material being cut or drilled. Finally, it is also important to ensure that optics are not in contact with the adhesive.

• Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames and hot surfaces during application. 4) If you develop an allergic reaction in any way such as skin irritation, rash or difficulty breathing then seek medical attention immediately by calling for an ambulance or going directly to your nearest hospital emergency department for treatment.

• Prolonged contact with the skin should be avoided.

• Avoid breathing in fumes from the glue or adhesive.

• Wear eye protection when using adhesives, glues and epoxy resins.

• Wash your hands thoroughly after handling adhesives, glues and epoxy resins as they can cause allergic reactions in some people, especially those with a sensitivity to such substances such as asthma patients, asthmatics, and people with an allergy to latex rubber or other natural rubber products (e.g., rubber gloves).

• Do not eat, drink or smoke while using adhesives, glues and epoxy resins as they may cause an adverse reaction in the digestive system causing nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea (although this is rare).

GRP glues are a powerful material that can help you build structures with tremendous strength. You should use the same precautions that you would when using any other type of glue, including researching the product and learning how to use it safely. Because of the risk of fire and explosion, all operations with propane gas are subject to strict safety measures such as following all the instructions in the user’s manual of the appliance, wearing appropriate protective clothing and footwear, storing or transporting propane cylinders in a clearly identified and approved container when not attached to the equipment.
